Oh, sweet Timothy. I just loved capturing his sweetness. He was baby boy number 3 for this family but mom had never had newborn portraits done before. I love that she chose to have them done this time. I can relate, I didn’t have newborn portraits done with either one of my babies. <sad> With my daughter, there really wasn’t newborn photography like there is now. We had hospital photos taken (they were not pretty but it was her first photo, so we bought some) and then didn’t have portraits done professionally until she was 3 months old. By then, babies change SO much. With my son, I was an amateur photographer. An avid scrapbooker with an interest in photography who decided to do my own “session”. As many photographers will tell you, taking photos of your own kids is SO HARD. They usually don’t cooperate! I was so tired and didn’t have the energy to really devote to doing his newborn portraits (nor did I really know what I was doing…haha). I did a quick set-up with a blanket on a beanbag sitting on my dining room table. I got just a couple of sweet images which I used for our announcements. I love those images of his first week of life but I truly wish I had hired a professional photographer to do it right. Although we are done having babies here, I would definitely hire a newborn photographer if I had another. 🙂
Timothy was a champ at 10 days old. Loved his sweet cheeks!
