There seems to be quite the baby boom in June-July for Central Florida newborn portraits. I have had a big jump in last-minute inquiries the last couple of weeks alone and have tried to accommodate when possible. Unfortunately, my availability is even more limited in the summer while my own kids are home from school. This is why it is so important to book your newborn session while you are still pregnant. The newborn window is a short one as the ideal time for the posed images is within the first two weeks after baby is born. Why is this? Well, because in order to get those squishy, curly images we want to photograph babies while they are still super sleepy and as tiny as they will ever be. As babies grow they are awake for longer periods of time. They also may start to develop colic and baby acne. Those first couple of weeks babies mostly sleep and this is the ideal time for the type of posed images you see in my work. 🙂 If you are expecting soon, please contact me ASAP to get on my calendar. I have just a couple of slots left in both July and August at this point.
Luckily I was able to fit in this gorgeous baby girl last week for her session. She was 15 days old when I saw her. So pretty with a great head of hair!
