Another Friday is upon us. It’s Week 45 of our Project 52. Our theme this week is f-stop 16. What is an f-stop? From Wikipedia: In optics, the f-number (sometimes called focal ratio, f-ratio, f-stop, or relative aperture[1]) of an optical system expresses the diameter of the entrance pupil in terms of the focal length of the lens; in simpler terms, the f-number is the focal length divided by the “effective” aperture diameter. It is a dimensionless number that is a quantitative measure of lens speed, an important concept in photography. I hardly ever shoot at f/16 because I prefer to shoot wide open (at f/2.0 or less depending on the lens). I love the shallow depth of field you get shooting wide open. So this was definitely a challenge for me but I had fun trying to get something. Ended up with this shot as we left the playground the other night.
